Our Story

The Diaper Bank of Central Arizona

In 1999, Eileen Rogers and Allegra Marketing founded the Baby Diaper Drive to benefit Homeward Bound, a transitional housing facility helping families escape and rebuild after domestic violence and/or homelessness. When the number of diapers collected reached 400,000 in 2012, Homeward Bound had more than enough diapers to meet it's demand, and the Baby Diaper Drive saw an opportunity to donate to other Valley non-profits. Feeling inspired by the drive's success and seeing an opportunity to continually help even more low-income families, Ginger Clayton along with her business, Elontec, was motivated to launch the Diaper Bank of Central Arizona - the first of it's kind in Phoenix.  To this day, we are the only diaper bank for the Phoenix Metro area and serve around thirty large and small non-profit agenices.

We couldn't do what we do today without the help of the Diaper Bank of Southern Arizona. We serve under the umbrella of the DBSA and consider them to be a model for what a successful diaper bank looks like.  They are the first diaper bank in the country! Additionally, we are a member of the National Diaper Bank Network and are able to leverage their partnership with Huggies to aquire diapers at a non-profit rate, helping even more families in need.  Thank you NDBN and Huggies!
